Latest Developments in Delivering Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education

Oxford, Wednesday 4th June 2008, St Catherine's College
This intensive one-day conference is equally suitable for those who have responsibility for planning the curriculum as it is for those who have responsibility for teaching Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education, either as a discrete subject or through pastoral care and the tutorial programme. The day will aim to provide the opportunity for teachers and managers to reflect on the importance of PSHCE in realising a broader vision of education and to provide materials to support the planning and delivery of the subject.

The importance of working across the curriculum, to ensure childrens physical, social and emotional as well as academic well-being, is made clear in the Children Act 2004 and in Every Child Matters. OfSTED and ISI require all schools to demonstrate how they deliver target objectives and opportunities for spiritual, moral, social and cultural development through PSHCE lessons and pastoral care, as well as through other aspects of the curriculum.

This conference will give teachers and managers the tools to demonstrate their commitment to childrens well-being in their own planning and teaching - and the resources to help others to understand how to address the requirements and to become enthusiastic supporters of a broader vision in education. eudaemonia understands the importance of enabling teachers to pass on the benefit of INSET within their schools; our exclusive DVD will support them in doing this.
